Even though the Earth Day 2020 festival is not taking place at Centennial Park, there are still ways to enjoy, appreciate, and learn about nature virtually. Check out the City Nature Challenge—a worldwide event that celebrates biodiversity everywhere and encourages you to explore nature near you. The Nashville City Nature Challenge will be held from April 24th – April 27th. It’s really easy to become citizen scientists with the iNaturalist app. Get involved by walking around your backyard or taking a physically-distanced walk through your neighborhood.

 

Travel the earth by taking a virtual safari

Streaming Safari

Escape from Nashville and explore more of the Earth on a virtual safari in South Africa with WildEarth. They are broadcasting live safaris on YouTube twice a day, once at sunrise and again at sunset. The safaris take place in Greater Kruger National Park, run for about three hours each, and are archived online.
