Tour the Best of Las Vegas without Setting Foot in a Casino with Christopher Campbell of BEACH BARK Brittle Company

Tour the Best of Las Vegas without Setting Foot in a Casino

You don’t need to set foot in a casino to see the best of Las Vegas. Let Christopher Campbell, the Vegas-based entrepreneur behind BEACH BARK Brittle Company, show you his family’s favorite spots on and off the Strip. Las Vegas has an exciting food and drink scene, as you might expect, but you might not know that it is also home to some great outdoor activities and loads of parks. One thing it’s lacking, however, according to the native Californian, is a beach. Grab your favorite BEACH BARK flavor and get to munchin’ and crunchin’ while you experience the best of Las Vegas as seen through this local husband and father of three.

Read on to learn about Christopher Campbell’s favorite places in Las Vegas, and you’ll be saying “Viva, Las Vegas!” in no time.

The new What Happens in Vegas Gets Shipped to Your House gift Batch features BEACH BARK brittle alongside other small-batch, locally made, artisan goods from the Las Vegas area including Mothership Coffee Pay it Forward Blend, Popped Corn Shop Gourmet Movie Theater Popcorn, and Southern Firefly Nevada Candle.

Where do you take out of towners?

One of my favorite restaurants growing up in Southern California was The Palm. We have one here in Las Vegas, and it is a go to for us with friends who visit. It’s a good, old-fashioned steak house from the ‘30’s.

What’s one place to get food or drink that no one outside of Las Vegas knows about, but everyone inside your city loves?

Frankie’s Tiki Room—killer rum-filled cocktails with a 1940’s dark ‘dive’ atmosphere

What food or drink would be worth waiting in line for?

Capo’s—a mafia-style speakeasy with a fantastic classic dirty martini and the best spaghetti and meatballs

Where is the best place to get a cocktail in Las Vegas?

The Laundry Room—a speakeasy bar hidden behind a secret door

Where do you go to celebrate a special occasion in your city?

Golden Steer Steakhouse, which opened in 1958, has great old Vegas charm.

What is your favorite hidden gem tourist attraction to recommend to your out-of-town guests?

The LINQ ferris wheel

Where is your favorite place to exercise in your city?

The bike paseos around our community in North Las Vegas

What is your favorite place to take kids in Las Vegas?

Gilcrease Orchard, Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument, and Floyd Lamb Park

Las Vegas' BEACH BARK Brittle Company for Batch

Where is the best art in town?

Neon Museum Boneyard

Where is the best place to go to get a good view of Las Vegas?

Red Rock Canyon and Centennial Hills. We live in North Las Vegas, and when we take our evening walks at dusk, we have streets in our community that provide us with killer views of the strip.

What is your favorite park in Las Vegas or within an hour’s drive?

Deer Springs Park. We have taken all three of our children there for the last 16 years. You can’t beat flying a kite and having a picnic.

What do you wish your city had?

The beach, waves, and surfing.

And one more question about being a small business owner…

What’s it been like to keep on making during a global pandemic?

We are fortunate that we are a big wholesaler and e-commerce-based business, and the pandemic has actually allowed us to connect with new partnerships, like Batch, to provide people with a unique, family-operated alternative to the established corporate names in the premium snack space.

In 2021, we are excited to introduce many new BEACH BARK flavors: Maple Bacon, Rootbeer Float, Orange Creamsicle, Peaches n Cream, Blueberries n Cream, Bananas n Cream, and Strawberries n Cream. We will follow them up next Holiday Season 2021 with our Pumpkin Spiced BARK and Peppermint BARK.

We are also looking at the possibility of opening a retail storefront. Think: SEE’s Candy meets a hometown, weathered, beachfront, surf atmosphere. Guests would be able to choose from all of our flavors in take-away bags, like if you were in a gourmet cookie shop, and shop from our bags, ball jars, gift boxes, and gift baskets. Franchising this model to other cities would be THE goal. We are just getting started!
