More Promises Unkept
In the just-completed season of The Promise, WPLN's Meribah Knight examines school re-segregation by zooming into one neighborhood in Nashville where that divide is indisputably apparent. She spent a full year reporting inside Warner Elementary and alongside its staff, from May of 2019 until May 2020, as the school grappled with Covid-19. This season will make you think differently about the role we all play in a system that has failed to provide many children with a quality education.

Get that Nashville sound with livestreamed concerts with Nashville artists performing in local music venues. In support of Nashville's cherished musicians and live music venues, Music City Bandwidth presented by Jack Daniel's is hosting concerts through October 31 at independent Nashville music venues, providing gigs for 120 Nashville-based musicians. Order a Jack Snack Pack, complete with a Music City shot glass, Old Fashioned drink mix (just add Jack!), Prohibition popcorn, Lil' Goos, and a Nashville guitar pick bottle opener to accompany the tunes. In case you know a music venue owner (and who in this town doesn't), there are CARES funds available to live music venues totaling $2 million. Live music venues in Davidson County may qualify for grants up to two months of operating expenses, not to exceed $100,000.
